A doctor, a study, a heartbreak. - start to my short story.
ReplyDeleteMy mom, Lilly White is one of the most successful doctors in Canada. People travel from all over the world to see her, and get help from her.She is head of Oncology, dealing mostly with young children. She is smart, beautiful, kind and successful. But she has never been in a relationship. I was born because of some special process where the Doctor plants a random person's sperm in my mom. I have no dad, she doesn't even know what his name was. She claims that all boys are the same, they only want one thing. They'll continue to use you until they find somebody better. She has never told me, but I've always assumed she's been through some sort of tragic heartbreak, and could never recover. Over my high school years if I claimed to be 'heartbroken' she would say "You have no idea what it truly means to be heartbroken." So, just like that, my problems never really mattered. I think the only reason I was born was so that she would not have to be alone her whole life.
A Writer, A Car, A Crime
ReplyDeleteEdgar sprinted from the apartment building to his car. He jumped in through the driver’s side winder, Dukes of Hazard style. He had forgotten to roll down the window prior to attempting this move and as he was crashing through the glass he also smacked his forehead off the top of the door. “Damn,” he thought to himself as he adjusted his thick glasses and frantically turned the car on. He hit the clutch, shifted into first, and punched the gas. Unfortunately, the knob on the shifter detached itself, and he looked at it with panic in his eyes. He tossed it out the open window and started to merge into traffic. “This car is a piece of -” his thoughts were interrupted by the blare of multiple car horns disallowing him into the busy downtown New York traffic. The portfolio of files he had placed on the passenger seat flew forward and scattered everywhere as he had slammed the brakes. A crowd started to gather around the parked car and Edgar noticed a few people on their cell phones. “Shoot, if they’re calling the cops I’m going to be in big trouble,” he thought to himself. He gathered the papers and threw open the car door. He pushed through the crowd and sprinted down the street.
Over the past few months, Mike had become fairly lethargic. He was unable to eat, possess the motivation to do anything and was extremely sluggish. When he travelled to work after his sixth cup of coffee, he slept on the couch in his office. Mike worked for Facebook. His official title was "Technical Analyst". He was told to take care of any problems or glitches the website may have. So, you can see how sleeping would negatively affect his job. When Mike was awake, he was in the Beer Room, always having a little too much. The company finally had enough of his lazy, inappropriate behaviour and fired him. On his way home, he received a text message from Annie. Annie was Mike's current girlfriend. He always had trouble staying in relationships. The text read, "Hi. I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore. It's not you.... -A". He slowly closed his phone and continued on his way with "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Foreigner playing quietly on the radio.
ReplyDeleteHigh in the mountains of Tibet lived a monk named Su, he practices Buddhism and lives on a farm where he breeds and takes care of many animals. Su spends most of his days meditating, and reading the Sutras, when he isn’t busy with his studies he works on his farm with his grandmother Poe, and his brother Boo. Su makes his money from his animals, he sells his pigs and his roosters at the local market at the bottom of the mountain, in the town of Nagchu. Su lives a stress-free, peaceful life, he takes care of his grandmother and supports his brother, Su parents died when he was young and has learned to cherish life. There are two dominant religions in Nagchu, Buddhism and Hinduism, both peaceful religions, but both groups believe they are the best. Su gets along with everyone, no matter what religion, everyone except Chee, Chee thinks he is better than Su, and that Hinduism is the only religion that people should follow. Whenever Su and Chee cross paths Su tries his hardest to stay calm and peaceful, since he is a monk he practises meditation and also has to be a good role model for his students, but Chee always perks up, and this time it got heated. Words were exchanged, attention was grabbed, and just as Su was walking away Chee yelled, “you just wait, this town will know who the true hero is very soon”.
ReplyDeleteLittle Weston Neddie Ryerse, also known as West, is my six year old brother. He was tall for his age and stuck out like a black smudge on a white shirt. I couldn't help but notice how awkward he looked, compared to the rest of the family. His ears stuck out on either side of the LA Lakers cap he was using to hide his dirty blonde, curly hair. By the looks of it, the hat wasn't doing its job very well. Weston was the joy of my life and had the cutest lisp, whenever he would talk he would whistle due to losing his two front teeth, and could not say ‘th’ without getting all rosy cheeked with embarrassment. West was a shy boy, always serious, would not laugh. In the odd moment that he would laugh, his eyes crinkle at the corners, his face lights up like the sun, and he tosses his body to the cheerfulness! Although I find West awkward and unusual, my relationship with him was the strongest relationship I had in my family. I strongly believe that birth order has had an impact on who I am today. I know that I would be a different person if it wasn't for my brothers who I love and care for. He always made me smile and I will always love him. I think that the purpose of my little brother coming to life is, letting me know that there is someone who needed me.

She takes the Via rail to the big city. The train is very empty. Only 4 or 5 other people on the train. One stuardess with a snack cart. The train is quiet.

The train goes to the wrong city.

Jordy told Liam that the plane was going to crash. Liam tries to tell his older brother Nick that the plane is going to crash, but he wont believe him.

A Priest, a Plane, and a Revelation
ReplyDeleteIn those first twenty minutes I just wrote a scene that I fit into the story later, so here it is :)
Once the plane had almost reached jumping level George looked out the small window beside him, and surveyed the view. It was the most breath-taking scene he had ever laid eyes upon. The fluffy cumulus clouds billowed up in perfect clumps to the right and left of them, strangely framing a section of clear sky, their pure white in striking contrast with its deep azure. The sun was high but slightly in the west by now, and it shone through the tops of the clouds splitting into streams of sunlight that stretched down in sparkling diagonal slopes, towards a floor of mist. The scene was perfect, and George was convinced. This must be the gateway to heaven.

ReplyDeleteThe wind blew and shook the leaves off of the trees. the Halloween decorations were displayed in a creepy fashion, the ghouls and goblins stared at Todd Adams as he drove his new jaguar down the street. he was a defense lawyer and was on his way to a murder trial. the accused was a priest, Father John Malcolm. Todd knew that John had killed the man, but john was a very influential man and had threatened Todd if he didn’t win the trial. Even though Todd was a big man, this frail priest possessed a power that Todd had no control over.
Have you ever put yourself in the villain’s shoes? Ever thought what it would be like to be them? Did you ever think maybe they had a reason for doing what they did? No one ever puts themselves in the villain’s shoes. Everyone wants to be the hero. Well we can not all be heroes because without villain’s there is no heroes. Someone has to be the villain, and that someone is me.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a normal life. I was happy. I even could have been considered a hero. Then all in just one day my life took a huge nose dive. It was sunny out that day which was pretty odd because it had not been sunny in weeks. It was the beginning of April, and all we had been getting was rain. I swear we were on the verge of a flood, but then the sun came out of no where and started shining like no ones business. It seemed like it was going to be a good day. Sunny days were always good days back then. It seemed like anything was possible on those days.

Plot: On a summer day in July, Calvin visits his brother Mac to ask a favour. Calvin, who works as a clown for the Sick Kids Hospital asks his brother Mac if he can teach him how to sing. The Sick Kids Hospital is putting on a benefit concert in order to raise more money for supplies and entertainment for the children. Mac agrees to help and the practicing begins. After many continuous hours of practice, Calvin is finally ready and just in time for the concert. Calvin believes that the concert can go one of two ways, it will either be very successful or a flop. The events that take place during this story are magical and prove that miracles happen everyday, especially when we least expect them to.
Introduction:
July 8th started out like any other day. The sun was shining bright, the grass was glistening from the rain that had fallen the previous night and the sound of birds chirping filled the neighbourhood. Mac Michaels, a hard working recording artist, woke up to the sound of his alarm clock at 8:30AM. He was extremely tired and rubbed his puffy eyes vigorously as he rolled out of bed and made his way to the washroom. While brushing his teeth, he heard a knock at the door. He threw on a house coat and slowly made his way down stairs. The knocking grew louder. "I'm coming!" Mac shouted. He opened the door and dressed in a clown costume, stood his brother Calvin.

"Out for a ride are we?" Lussifer asked Sir Geroge, one of the most noble knights from the land of Carraway. "Indeed, I am returning to the palace." Lussifer had always been envious of George. The king of Carraway treated George with respect due to all his adventures that he had accomplished. Lussifer was hated by all in the palace including the king. He was sneaky and untrustworthy. "What journey are you trying to walk out here in the forest?" Sir George asked with suspicion. Lussifer glared at George with anger and hate. Nothing would make Lussifer more happy than having George gone, even if it meant killing him. Lussifer snarled back, "I shall not tell you anything, the King has sent me out here on a quest?. "On a quest you say?" George laughs and rides off on his large white stallion.As Lussifer stood deep in the dark forest he whispered into the wind, "I'll get him somehow, I swear, somehow I shall achieve my revenge."
A knight, a concert, and a disaster
ReplyDeleteDuring the medieval era, there was a knight that was known all across the land. His name was Francis Drake, an extremely skilled warrior that would kill any enemy that came in his path. He was quiet popular among most people, even the royal family had him over for meals a few times a year. He had no family, and no permanent residence, so a lot of his time was spent travelling from town to town. While on one of his journeys he happened to end up in Stratford. He heard about this man named Shakespeare and all of his plays; Francis insisted that he had to meet this man. After spending a few days trying to track him down, he finally managed to find him. They talked for quite some time and Shakespeare had a liking for Francis. Francis was invited to his upcoming concert and given front row tickets, Francis was so excited. The next day Francis made his way to the Globe Theatre and was one of the first spectators there. He managed to meet most of the actors that were going to be in the play and learned what exactly the play was about. Now even more excited he could not wait for it to start. The crowd started to cheer as Shakespeare walked on stage and the play had begun. It wasn’t until halfway through the play where the odour of smoke filler the air, the play still went on but people were starting to worry. After a few minutes had past a man yelled "FIRE!" and the place burst into chaos. Everyone was running in different directions and Francis has no idea where to go, having never been in there before. He started to run for what he thought was an exit, but before he could reach it he heard a loud crack, only to look up and see a huge flaming wooden beam falling towards him.
